2026 Tigers Milk Winter Classic set to take place in clean, contestable conditions from tomorrow to Sunday
Muizenberg beach in the Western Cape will host the 11th edition of Tigers Milk Winter Classic from 9.30am tomorrow up to and including Sunday when the finals in the seven divisions will take place.
Day one will host the first rounds of Open Men in the shortboard and longboard divisions and will include the traditional Tigers Milk outreach tag team event from 3pm to 5pm. The Opening function will be held in the Tigers Milk Restaurant at Muizenberg Corner at 6pm.
The Tigers Milk Restaurant Outreach Tag team event will involve over 30 young surfers from a number of local community based outreach programmes that use surfing to change the lives of marginalised youth. The tag team format will see four surfers working together as a team which will ensure that every participant plays a role in the project.
Conditions for all three days of this unique contest are predicted to be offshore, clean, contestable and in the 3 to 4 foot range, giving the strong field of male and female shortboarders and longboarders plenty of scope to showcase all their talents.
The Tigers Milk Winter Classic includes competitors Open Men and Women’s longboarders and shortboarders divisions, an Over 40 longboard division and divisions for Senior and Junior novices.
Local and national competitors will be aiming at a share of the R37500 prizemoney on offer and hoping to win some of the generous prizes that the sponsors have added to the event.
The Tigers Milk Winter Classic, which was first held in 2015, continues to build on the fact that it is community focussed, combining competition for both men’s, women’s and over 40’s longboarding, men’s and women’s shortboarding and encourages participation by local surfers who will compete in a surf contest for the first time.
The heat draw for all the divisions is available on www.liveheats.com/surfingsouthafrica
Liveheats shows who will be competing in every division, gives a contest schedule for the three days of competition and allows the public to follow live scoring throughout the contest.
