Pollock Beach, Nelson Mandela Bay – Sisonke Surf Club (KZN) are the proud winners of the 2025 Royal St Andrews Hotel SA Interclub Championships.

The tournament enjoyed good, contestable offshore conditions at Pollock Beach as the best clubs in the country went toe-to-toe in the tag team event.

Conditions slowed down a little during the low tide, but there were still some great rides from the local surfers and those visiting from KZN and the Western Cape.

At the end of the day, it was Sisonke who outpointed Skulls (KZN) into second, with Wave Point Surf (EC) in third and Surf Emporium (WC) in fourth.

This competition was the first event in the Nelson Mandela Bay Surf Fest. It will be followed by the Sea Harvest Pipe Junior SAST event on April 2 – 4. The festival will conclude with the Nelson Mandela Bay Pro Junior on April 5 and 6.

Club surfing is where it all starts, and Surfing South Africa has a fresh focus on clubs and club surfing in South Africa. Surf clubs play a vital role in educating, nurturing, and instilling the correct values and ideologies for young and old surfers, thus being intrinsic to our sport’s growth.

“The National Club Surfing Championships was a great success,” said Surfing South Africa General Manager Reza De Nicker. “Thanks to the Royal St Andrews Hotel for the support on this noteworthy tournament.”
