Bali, Indonesia – The two South African surfers competing in the Rip Curl International GromSearch Finals are geared up and ready for the start of this prestigious tournament.
After a week of great waves and immersing themselves in the Bali surf culture, Rory Dace (Cape St Francis) and Louise Lepront (Scottburgh) eagerly anticipate the event’s start on 13th November, as the SA surfers get ready
Additionally, their entries into the Global Final, as well as their tickets to Bali and accommodation, were made possible through a collaborative effort between Rip Curl, Zigzag Magazine, Sea Harvest, and the Royal St Andrews Hotel in Port Alfred. These entities are the backbone of junior surfing in South Africa.

SA Surfers Get Ready
Dace has been in the Keramas area, getting some great waves and testing his equipment out in the tropical waters of Bali. Also, Lepront has been surfing in and around the Canggu area, getting into some of the beach breaks and A-Frames to be found around the peninsula, with both surfers very pleased with the surf they have had so far.
The 2024 Rip Curl GromSearch Series was a Surfing South Africa series, and it was a resounding success, with events in Cape Town, Port Alfred, East London, Durban, and Cape St Francis. Furthermore, the series winners, Dace and Lepront, were decided on the best 4 out of 5 contest results, inspiring a new generation of groms, our future champions.
