Willards Beach, Ballito, KZN – On the opening days of the Ballito Open Presented by Flojos QS1,000 contest, we witnessed a fun contest-within-a-contest, the Sea Harvest KZN Surfing Outreach Initiative Tag Team contest, a Surfing South Africa event.

The teams competed in a tag format in fun but light onshore two- to three-foot surf at Willard’s. Five teams entered the event, each with their own unique story. One of the teams, the Tofu Surf Club, had members who had never left Tofu before. Their journey to this event was a testament to their passion and dedication, making this an inspiring event for them and the audience.

While the Surfers Not Street Children team emerged as the victors, the true essence of the event was the enjoyment shared by all. The fun competition was a hit with everyone, creating a memorable experience for the participants and the audience.
