2023 South African Junior Surfing Team for ISA World Championships announced

2023 South African Junior Team selected to compete in ISA World Surfing Championships in Brazil later this year

The Surfing South Africa Board has ratified the team that will represent South Africa at the 2023 International Surfing Association World Junior Surfing Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from November 24th to December 3rd, 2023

The U18 Boys in the team are David Emslie (East London, Eastern Cape),Luc Lepront (Scottburgh, KZN) and Ntokozo Maphumulo  (Durban, KZN). Simon Winter (Kommetjie, Western Cape) is the non- travelling reserve.

The U18 Girls are Lily Heny (Port Alfred, Eastern Cape), Gemma Hanafey and Zia Hendricks (both East London, Eastern Cape) and Chloe Ribbink (Durban North, KZN) is the non – travelling reserve.

Levi Epenetos (Melkbosstrand, Western Cape), Rory Dace (Cape St Francis, Eastern Cape and Kai Hall (Durban,KZN)  make up the U16 Boys group with Josh Malherbe (Coffee Bay, Eastern Cape) the non – travelling reserve.

Louise Lepront ( Scottburgh, KZN), Anastasia Venter (Melkbostand, Western Cape) and Indiphile Osinachi (Durban,KZN) are the U16 Girls team members while Emily Jenkinson (Llandudno, Western Cape) is the non – traveling reserve.

SSA Operations Manager Rezar de Nicker (Western Cape) is the Team Manager while Natasha Van Greunen and Danielle Powis (both Western Cape) are the Coaches for the 2023 SA Junior Team.

The team members and non – traveling reserves will gather at Cape St Francis for a National Junior Team Camp on September 23rd – 25th.
