Victoria Bay in the Eden District will get the 2018 South African Surf Tour underway with the 1A Rated Reef Wetsuits Vic Bay Gromcomp presented by Sea Harvest which takes place at the famous right hand point break this weekend.
Thanks to sponsorship from Reef Wetsuits and Sea Harvest boys and girls from all Cape Town to Northern KZN will be able compete in the U12, U14 and U16 divisions.
Over 70 surfers from all corners of South Africa have made their way down to Victoria Bay to compete in the first SAST contest of 2018. All the contestants will earn ratings points and the finalists will share R12000 in prize money.
Close on forty twenty minute heats that be completed by Sunday afternoon, and organizers have planned an 8.00am start on both days of competition.
All the heat scores will be available live via the LIVEHEATS link at www.liveheats.com/surfingsouthafrica and scores will be available on this platform from the first round until the last heat is completed on Sunday.
Top seeds in the U16 Boys and Girls divisions are Kommetjie surfers York Van Jaarsveldt and Summer Sutton respectively while in the U14 Boys division Daniel Emslie heads the draw and fellow East London surfer Aimee du Preez is seeded at the top of the U14 Girls ratings.
Joel Fowles of East London is top seed in the U12 Boys group with Zia Hendricks of Jeffreys Bay heading up the U12 Girls division.

The 2018 Reef Wetsuits Vic Bay Gromcomp is presented by Sea Harvest and sanctioned by Surfing South Africa, the recognized national governing body for the sport. Surfing South Africa is a member of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) and the International Surfing Association (ISA).
